FM (Fructose Malabsorption) ~ A little background on my amazingly strong boy! ~

In case you are like I was and had no clue that this weird medical disorder. Here is some background information:

Fructose Malabsorption (formerly known as Dietary Fructose Intolerance) is a digestive disorder in which absorption of fructose is impaired by deficient fructose carriers in the small intestines. Symptoms can include bloating, diarrhea, flatulance, stomache pain and vomiting.

In other words.....if you cant handle POOP TALK leave this blog NOW! :)

My son, Jaymeson, has mainly been dealing with the diarrhea. And let me tell you it has NOT been an easy go. But here is a little background story.

Jaymeson was born in 2008 and when he was 6 weeks old had his first bout with Pneumonia. Scary stuff....he wasnt breathing correctly and after trying with his pediatrician to get him through it with nebulizer treatments, I finally took him into the ER (this is why you follow your Mommy gut) and I thought I wasnt coming home with a baby! He was turning colors and limp and breathing very short and wraspy. Even though the pediatrician thought is was a bad cold I couldnt believe it. Thank out good Lord I listened to my gut. He was admitted to Rainbow Babies Hospital for a week. BUT he made it out stronger than ever. Throughout the next year he had more cases of Pneumonia and his amazing Pediatrican caught it every time after that and we got him on antibiotics QUICKLY. He was also have ear infections at this time and so more antibiotics were given throughout this year.

After a while we found an fabulous Pulminologist and he has helped us avoid any further Pneumonias so far. So with breathing under control we were able to focus on the rest of Jaymeson's health...here comes the poopy business....

Jaymeson has NEVER and I mean NEVER pooped a turd! Not since day one of birth. And i know alot of babies have runny poop at the beginning. And yes, that is true. HOWEVER, their bodies usually correct themselves with in months. NOT JAYMESON! And not only was it as runny as milk....BUT IT STUNK!!!!!!! So bad that we almost didnt want to change his diapers indoors. And it has continued this way for two years! TWO YEARS OF RUNNY, GROSS, STINKY DIAPERS! So......we sought a solution!..............And this is where this blog journey begins.
